The Denver Broncos will be without safety Kareem Jackson for a while.
The NFL suspended Jackson four games without pay for violations of unnecessary roughness rules following this Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, the league announced Monday.
Jackson’s suspension comes after the safety was ejected during Denver’s 19-17 win for his sideline hit on Packers tight end Luke Musgrave.
In a letter to Jackson, NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan wrote:
“On the play in question, you delivered a forceful blow to the head/neck area of a defenseless receiver, when you had the time and space to avoid such contact. You could have made contact with your opponent within the rules, yet you chose not to."

The Broncos safety has had multiple offenses for personal fouls this season, including in a Week 2 loss when he was ejected for a hit on Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas. He’s been fined four times this year for unnecessary roughness.
Jackson is set to be suspended for Denver’s next four games against the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns. He is eligible to return to the Broncos' active roster on Monday, November 27, the NFL announced.

According to multiple reports, Jackson is going to appeal his four-game suspension.
The 14-year safety has started all seven games for the Broncos this season. He has 42 tackles, two interceptions and three pass deflections this year. He has been a primary starter in Denver's secondary since 2019. He spent the first nine years of his career as a member of the Houston Texans. Jackson has tallied 943 tackles, 22 interceptions and 110 pass deflections in 200 career regular-season games.
